The focal point of LAUNCH ministries is always God. LAUNCH believes that when children see God as BIG and themselves as small, when they see God as holy and themselves as sinful, and when they see God as right and themselves as wrong, they are more likely to realize their need for a Savior and respond to Him with love and repentance. LAUNCH believes that the heroes of the Bible are not David, Moses, Esther, and Mary – it is always GOD who is the center of the text. Our hope is that by presenting God as He is, our children will strive to not simply be like Paul or Ruth, but that they will pray earnestly for the Spirit to conform them into Christ-like servants for the glory of our God.
The primary goal of LAUNCH ministries is to see children come to a saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ and to develop an intimate eternal relationship with Him. We cannot regenerate hearts, but we can faithfully and consistently present the gospel message to children and their parents.
The second goal of LAUNCH ministries is for children to respond in genuine worship to our great God and Savior. While it is the Holy Spirit who brings about true worship from the heart, LAUNCH strives to present a BIG God to students and provide the fullest picture possible of who God is. LAUNCH ministries does not teach moral lessons with the intention that good acts will lead to a righteous life. Rather, we teach children truths about God, with the hope that they will develop a love for God that will lead them to be obedient to His commands and live lives that glorify Him.
LAUNCH places a high value on teaching truth to children and therefore places a high value on Scripture, the only source of Truth. LAUNCH ministries rely heavily on the Word of God as our number one resource for teaching. Furthermore, LAUNCH encourages children to value the Bible and to love the truth it teaches. Therefore, LAUNCH encourages Biblical literacy among children and, in the older grades, begins to present basic Bible study skills to students in order that they may develop a regular routine of feeding themselves with Scripture.
LAUNCH seeks to invest in our volunteers through both encouragement and training so that our volunteers will, in turn, invest in their ministry to children. Encouragement to volunteers is made available through relationship building and one-on-one interactions.
Partnering with Parents
LAUNCH believes that God has given parents the responsibility and privilege of being the primary disciplers of their children. Holding to this belief, LAUNCH endeavors to come alongside parents in this task by equipping and supporting parents in their efforts to carry out this responsibility. LAUNCH fulfills this distinctive by offering resources and suggestions through printed communications, and making intentional efforts to encourage parents and families in their spiritual growth.
